F&J Development, formerly Susin Construction Company, was founded in 1962 by its president, Joseph Susin, based on traditional Italian craftsmanship. Born and raised in Arten, Italy, Joe studied architectural design and carpentry in Feltre, Italy. Joe worked as an apprentice for a furniture maker for 4 years where his only compensation was his education. Joe left Italy in 1956 with a desire to pursue a carpentry career in the United States. He got his start working for construction companies based in Southeast Michigan prior to venturing on his own.
Frank Susin, is the vice president of F&J Development. After working with his father through his childhood, Frank graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan where he graduated with Honors. Franki has learned the Italian craftsmanship from Joe. The father and son team continue the traditions through hard work and a commitment to excellence.
Today, Joe and Frank specialize in building great projects for clients with high skill, honesty, integrity, expertise, and total service.
